In 1929 the Anderson family opened a specialty seafood shop to bring a unique selection of food products to the Charlottesville community. After merging with the Carriage Food House, we became the Andersons’ Carriage Food House and began decades of serving the Charlottesville community
Featuring fresh seafood brought directly from Virginia’s coast, produce from our regional farmers, and prepared foods from family recipes, the store became a Charlottesville favorite.
Though our Barracks Street retail store has closed, we are still serving our famous recipes, and locally-sourced meat and produce through our catering service. We look forward to bringing our signature Charlottesville dishes to your event.
